On your doorstep

Well-known for its fossils and the abundance of sea glass waiting to be found among the pebbles and sand on its large beach, Charmouth has an enviable coastal location and offers a great base from which to explore a number of interesting towns, villages and the stunning countryside of Dorset and East Devon.

Stonebarrow Manor is situated at the bottom of Stonebarrow Lane at the eastern end of the village, half a mile from the A35 main road. It is only a few minutes walk to the sea from the cottages and also to the village centre.

Charmouth has some great shops, there is an excellent Pharmacy, a local bakery and, to eat, choose from The Bank House Café or Charmouth Fish Bar & Pizzeria on The Street, or the Beach Café or Soft Rock Café Kiosk at Charmouth beach. There are also 2 local pubs – The Royal Oak (serving tasty seasonal dishes) and The George Inn (providing a selection of pub grub).

At the beach you will find Charmouth Heritage Centre (free admission – find out more at https://charmouth.org/chcc/).
See what’s happening on the beach with the new Charmouth Heritage Centre webcam – see https://charmouth.org/chcc/about/beach-cam/.
Further gifts are available at ‘Herringbone’ and ‘Bumble’s’ on The Street. For lots more information, do visit https://charmouth.org/ to learn all about the charming village of Charmouth.
